Loving Up On LONG Holiday Weekends...

It was a very nice holiday week..and I am sad it is over. :( But all good things must come to an end, right? At least that is what I have been telling myself, as tomorrow we all go back to work! HA!

I love the Thanksgiving holiday b.c it is just such a nice week with good food and good times. It is the very beginning of the Christmas season (which is my favorite time of the year), and there is lots of fun shopping, so much excitement and energy everywhere, and the super fun Texas/Texas A&M football game (and what a great game it was this year!). It also means that it is time to decorate the tree, the weather starts to get colder (even in Texas!!), and the holiday cheer kicks into high gear. What a special time. I am also excited about all of these first holidays with Braden. So fun! :)

My mom was here all week (Sunday to Sunday) and that was awesome!! She kept Braden while Chris and I worked Mon-Wed. Chris and I also got to enjoy some time out during the week too-movies, dinners, etc. What a wonderful treat! :)

The rest of our families had other plans this Turkey Day week...so we were all a little split up this year. For Turkey Day itself, we decided that since there were just three of us (plus Braden) that we were going to go out to lunch this year. No long hours in the kitchen cooking, no messy cleanup, and no food to feed an army. It sounded so good to all of us...and it WAS! :) We ate Thanksgiving lunch at Hill Country Pasta House. You might think it was all pasta by the name..but oh no...we ate our fair share of turkey, dressing, candied yams, veggies, pecan pie, the works! :) It was very yummy! And then once we were done we could just walk away. Loved it!! :) And we did not have so much turkey left over that we felt forced to eat it until 2010 either! HA! :)

Just a few pics of our week..... :)

Braden waking up Turkey Day morning and showing us how much he loved his Thanksgiving pillow from Mama Jet.. :)
Hill Country Pasta House...
Bugbee Family Thanksgving Day pic..
Chris and Mom smiling after a good meal....Braden just hanging out in his car seat watching us grub it up! :) Too bad he can only eat milk right now! HA!
Not sure why he is boycotting looking at the camera.. :)So we spent quite a bit of time this past weekend car shopping (about 3 days to be exact). We headed out to Ford and Nissan to check out the cars we had narrowed it down to- Expedition and Armada. That process is soooo draining! I finally had to just walk in with a dollar amount and say this was all we were going to pay, in order to move the whole thing along quicker. Sheesh!! Plus I broke my toe at some point over the weekend, so I did not feel like sitting in there all day! HA! :) Gotta love a taped up black and blue toe! :( But even with a broken toe, it all worked out in the end!! We drove home with a new coche on Sat night! :)

We said bye bye to the 5 1/2 year old Explorer. It was a great car for all of those years! :)

And we said hello to our new Aramada! :) We LOVE IT!! We love all of the room..it is just fabulous! :)
We are now officially a Nissan white car family..ha! :)
Then on Sunday we had Braden's baby dedication at our church. He did great and smiled at the perfect time...when Pastor was praying about his future friends and future wife! It was hysterical and he is just reaffirming how social he is! LOL! :)

Braden's first time in the new ride on the way to his dedication... :) We think he likes it!
Being on stage must have worn him out b.c he passed out afterward! LOL! :)
Just hanging out with Dad talking about his dedication...and how much he loves Jesus! :)

Remembering Past Thanksgivings..

This Thanksgiving was refreshing b.c it was my first Turkey Day at home (either my home or my parents home) in 6 years!! HELLO PLEASE! :) 2003 was the last one that I celebrated in the good ole state of Texas! :) I have traveled all of the other times between then and now..so this Thanksgiving was special. :)

I spent some time today remembering my past Thanksgivings and where I was. :) It was fun to look back on pics and remember all of the things that we did during that holiday around the world. :)

I will start with the most recent year....
In 2008 Chris and I headed to Italy for Thanksgiving. It was such a great 2 week trip with many stops, sights, and amazing food!

Rome.....
The Amalfi Coast...
Gorgeous Tuscany.......
The famous Leaning Tower of Pisa... :)
Florence.......
In 2007 we headed up north..and went to Vancouver and Whistler. This was a VERY last minute trip...in fact I think we booked it just about 4-5 days before we left. LOVE IT! :)
Beautiful Whistler...Vancouver is beautiful from Stanley Park...
The countdown for the 2010 Winter Olympics..
In 2006, my best friend Jennifer and I headed to Ireland to play. Chris was not super happy about that trip b.c we had just gotten engaged 2 months prior....and he really wanted to go! HA! :)
Ring of Kerry....Dublin...
Cliffs of Moher..
Blarney....
In 2005, Chris and I had just been dating about a month but he could not come home for Thanksgiving....so I headed up to DC! :) We had a wonderful time with the jammed packed agenda that Chris had set up for us. Our first Turkey Day together. :) Today we celebrated our 5th one!! :)
And for 2004.....Jennifer and I spent it in Eastern Europe. Good times! :)

Prague..
Vienna...
Budapest...

Cannot wait to see what the future Thanksgivings will bring!! :) Only time will tell....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Braden just wanted to tell everyone Happy Thanksgiving!! :) There is so much to be thankful for, and we sure do feel blessed! :)

Happy Turkey Day to all of you! :)

Busy Weekends...

I feel like the theme of our life lately is not only busy weekends but super busy weeks too. I have realized that since I started back to work (about a week ago), that I will probably never really have much time to blog ever again. LOL!! I just thought life was crazy being a mom and doing the normal "Bugbee" things that we do...but then I added my job back on top of that and HOLY COW!! I think I now need a nanny, housekeeper, yard man, personal shopper, etc. LOL!! :) I am not sure how working women are able to tend to newborn babies, keep their homes clean and in order, do all of the grocery shopping, laundry...all while holding down a full or part time job. For those of you that can do it...I ADMIRE you!! Seriously!! WOW! You deserve a big reward. :) Please teach me your ways! :)

This past weekend was busy, busy for me. Friday night Chris, Braden and I headed to the Jr League's "A Christmas Affair" to do a little shopping. It was lots of fun and got us into the Christmas spirit (even though Turkey Day is not even here yet). :) Then we headed over to Threadgills to get some yummy dinner. We like to go to loud places like that just in case Braden decides to have a meltdown, and then it is not so obvious!! :) He does great at restaurants at least 90% of the time.....but I am sure that the day we decide to go to a quiet place, will be the day that he decides to go bonkers.

Saturday morning I was one of 14 hostesses for a baby shower for my sweet friend Dori and her soon-to-be bundle of joy. Dori is due with her daughter Haylee in January. :) We were kickin it with the Hawaiian beach theme, as that is the theme of Haylee's nursery. :) It has been soooo much fun to host and attend all of these baby showers in 2009. I think I counted that I have hosted or attended about 17 of them this year. That is more than one per month! LOL! :) Lots of babies, and lots of friends for Braden! I love it! :)

After the shower on Saturday, I drove out to the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort (outside of Bastrop) to get together with some fun college girlfriends. Some of them I had not seen in AGES!! Literally like 10 years!! It was so awesome to see them all and catch up that night! Between all 9 of us, there were 23 babies in the midst! So fun!! :) I think we talked for over 3 hours at dinner alone! LOL! :)

Sunday we headed to church and went out to lunch. Then we headed home as my brother and Mom were coming into town. Cory was passing through on his way back from a long hunting weekend...and Mom was coming for the week to keep Braden while I work. :) THANK YOU SOOO MUCH MOM!! :)

Just a couple pics from the shower fun... :)
