13 Months........

Braden turned 13 months today. :) We are moving full force into the 2nd year of life, and there is no slowing our little man down. :)

Here are a few fun facts about Mr. B at 13 months. :)

1) Finally 4 new teeth are trying soooo hard to pop in on the top. We can barely see the whites of them coming through.....but they are on their way. After those come in then he will have 6 chompers. :) We have waited a long time for this! HA! :)
2) LOTS and LOTS of talking but still no walking. Not sure what is up with that but B just does not feel like walking right now. He stands alone, cruises like a champ, and can walk between us when we practice with him...but I think he must just realize that he can move much faster on his knees. So he usually drops to them when he really wants to move. We are anxiously awaiting our little man to start this new milestone. One b.c we think he he will be a cute little walker, and two b.c he is 25 lbs and heavy to carry! HA! :)
3) Back to the his talking......WOW!! It really is amazing. He can literally repeat many of of the words that we say. It completely blows us away. His teachers at school taught him how to say their names...and he must learn a couple of new words a week. We are loving all of his talking..it is a blast! :)
4) He LOVES bananas and just goes nuts when he sees them. He WANTS them all of the time! LOL!! :)
5) Still loves water and we love that he loves it. That way we don't have to take the juice route. :)
6) He is becoming quite opinionated.....especially about what he wants to do and what he wants to eat. It is quite intriguing to watch him come into his own. I did not think that was supposed to happen this early! :)
7) This is the longest amount of time that he has been in the same size clothes and diapers. It has been nice to not have to buy new clothes every few weeks! :) He is still fitting into his 18 month clothes very well..and the size 4 diapers are his favorite. :)
8) He continues to love outside more and more every day. Especially with the cooler weather. I really think he could spend hours out there and not be bored at all. :)
9) He is learning LOTS of sign language and we also love that b.c it gives us a new way to communicate. He has picked the signs up very quickly, and they are practicing them like crazy at school. :)
10) Braden has shown us that the toddler years can be SOOOO much fun!! :) And I am sure that he will only continue to make the toddler years lots of fun into the future. :)

Cannot wait to see what this month brings. :) Just a couple of pics of Braden....

When our little man likes something he eats...he LIKES to eat. :) Baths are often necessary. :)Oh yes..the ball popper. This is one of those toys that can entertain him longer than 10 minutes so we really like it! :) Just a quick pic with Mimi and Pappy when they were in town. Gotta love how the tongue comes out now instead of a smile! :)

The Twins Turn One...

Saturday was a big day for Braden's little friends-Caden and Caroline. :) It was their one year birthday party, and they had a "Barnyard Animals" theme. It was too cute and they were even dressed to match the decorations. :) There was lots of yummy food, and Braden had lots of fun with his friends that are all right around his age. YAY!! :) Good times all around. :)

Happy Birthday to the Case twins. :) Hope it was a great one!

Here are a few pics of the fun....... Loved the super cute "mini" food for the babies. :) They grubbed it up! Fun cupcakes! :)Of course each of the twins had to have their own smash cake. ;)
Miss Caroline is ready for her party!! :)
And so is Caden.....he even has his bandana on for the fun. :)Caden and Caroline with their grandma Janell and Auntie Angela. :) Danielle and Weston are ready to celebrate!Uncle Allen and Aunt Angela.....Jason built this super fun playscape in the backyard for the kids! The guests at the party thought they would go ahead and break it in for the twins. :) Oh how Caden loved it! And Braden got his swing on too! :) That smile is showcasing that Weston obviously loves to swing! Braden and Caden played on the John Deere tractor....I think Braden seriously wants one now!! Doesn't he look like he could be a farmer? LOL! :) Alicia and Matt giving me some laughs.... The Brunke Family!! Hannah was loving on her mama. :)
The Samuel Family watching all of the action....
Miss Hannah was getting ready for the group picture...with her sweet little bandana on. :) We tried to get a pic of the kiddos at the party...and well, you can see how it went! HA! :) My son would not even wear his cute bandana. Which child is not participating like the others? LOL!!! Cake time!! Caroline was pretty interested in checking hers out... Caden was not quite as into it...and wanted to look out the window instead. :)

Asher wanted to dress up like a cowboy...too cute. :) One year birthday fun!! LOVE IT! :) So ready for the next little one's party!! :)

How Did 35 Already Get Here?

So I am officially halfway to 40!! I am 35 years old and counting. :) The crazy thing is that I really don't feel any older! HA! :)

I had a great birthday this year....and I have to thank my boys for making everything so special for me. :) They are the best. They made me smile all day long. :)

Chris and I had the awesome pre-bday celebration in Dallas the weekend before the big day...and then we celebrated in Austin this weekend.

Beautiful flowers from the sweet men in my life..... On Friday Chris and I had a good lunch at The Roaring Fork.....and it was YUM!! :)

Then I headed down to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Four Seasons Spa. I had a special foot treatment lined up b.c my feet needed some TLC...and my plan was to spend the following few hours relaxing. :) However, I was disappointed by the spa there as it was really just lacking. I was looking forward to a great relaxation room where I could take a long nap, and all of the other fun things that a "spa" type environment brings like hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, fun showers, etc. But sadly, none of that was really there. :( And it was hard to relax with only 4 chairs sitting very close to one another in the relaxation room. Boo. :( Not too many naps happening in there as everyone was crammed in waiting for their treatments. So I ended up getting my foot therapy and then headed out pretty quickly.

I did sit out by Towne Lake in the hammocks for a little bit to chill and that was nice. :) But overall I don't think I will be heading back to the Four Seasons for my future treatments for special occassions. I think I will be sticking to what I know that rocks in Austin! :)

This was my little chill spot right in front of Towne Lake.....nice. :)

Since I did not get to nap much in here. :) My parents came in Friday night to play for the weekend. My dad's bday is Sept 29th...so just a few days after mine. So we decided to celebrate together in Austin this year. :)

We headed out to dinner at Truluck's on Saturday night. It was fun to have just the 4 of us together for the evening over some scrumptous cuisine. :) We had a really good time. :)Mmmmmm.....crab legs. :) And we had the best wine, steaks, parmeasean mashed potatoes, and wonderful desserts like divine chocolate cake and key lime pie! :) It was seriously YUM!! :)
You can tell that Dad was getting excited about the dessert! LOL! :)And Trulucks gave us both fun Happy Birthday desserts too! :)
The craziest part was that the entire week before the dinner...and even up until the dinner, Dad and I were arguing over who was going to pay. When you both have a birthday, what is the right answer? :) I thought the most logical answer was to just split the bill but he still insisted on paying. He can be a little stubborn sometimes (must be where I got that from). :)
So anyway, we thought that Dad must have gone to the bathroom and slipped the waitress his credit card...b.c she came to the table at the end of the meal and said "Thank you very much Mr Jaetzold". Well just the final credit card slip was in there to sign..no bill. So of course we thought he had pulled a fast one on us!! Until she said "We hope to see you all again and thank you Cory". Well the funny thing is that my dad's name is Gary and my brother's name is Cory!! We were all squealing b.c we realized that my brother and sister in law (who live in DFW) had called ahead to the restaurant and given their credit card to charge the entire meal too!! WHAT? :)
So basically my sneaky brother had pulled a fast one on all 4 of us!! How sweet was that for him to call and take care of the entire meal for our birthdays? So nice!! :) We laughed the entire way home b.c we realized that the waitress was completely clueless as to why a "Cory" paid and he was not there....and I don't think she even realized what my Dad's name was. LOL!! It was just funny!! :) Thank you so much Cory and Jen...you guys are amazing!! :)
Happy Birthday Dad!! :) Love you! :)

Pre-Birthday Celebration In The Big D....

This past weekend we went to Dallas to play for my pre-birthday celebration. Yes it is true...I will be turning the big 3-5 this coming weekend. AHHHHHHH!! :) Halfway to 40 already! :)
So to help me not be depressed about my aging, Chris whisked me away to Dallas for a fun weekend..just the two of us. :) We dropped Braden off in Dallas at Chris's mom's house on the way...so he could play with his Mimi, his cousins, and of course be spoiled. :) You know that he loved every minute of the attention! :)

Here he is enjoying some new toys and pretending like he is talking on the phone. :)
He loves Peek-a-boo... :) Mimi will probably think it is pretty funny if I play this with her this weekend. :)After we got him all settled into his fun new enviroment, we headed off to get our Saturday started. :) We ended up staying in The Stoneleigh Hotel and it was awesome. It is such a fun place in Uptown Dallas...a hidden gem within walking distance of MANY great restaurants. :)Chris was posing with the lions out front. :)Very serene and relaxing....Pretty lobby.......... I thought that their "Do Not Disturb" signs were cute. They said.. "I do not want to be alone...but I want to be left alone." :)This was our fun studio suite. I loved it. :) The TV in the middle swivled so you could watch it whether you were sitting in the bedroom or in the living room. Hee hee! :) Fun bathroom... :)We headed out to the West Village to eat some yummy burgers. :) We hit up Village Burger Bar...and we were happy. :)Then we decided that we had a sweet tooth and we needed gelato as dessert. :) Paciugo here we come!! :) Chris needed a haircut so we ventured over to Floyd's to get that all taken care of. Love how crazy it is in there. :)Looking good with the new "do". :)
We had a very relaxing Satuday and it ROCKED!! It was just so nice to hang out! :)
We had a wonderful dinner that evening at Ocean Prime...oh YUM!! :) It lived up to its hype for sure. :) Love the outdoor dining and patio! :)Ocean Prime...whoop! So fun inside... So many great things to order off the menu...so we started off with the Wisconsin Cheddar Fondue for two. :)And I had to pick what I thought was the best dish on there...Crab Encrusted Blue Tilapia!! YES!! And we had some pretty amazing Jalapeno Au Gratin. :)They brought out a 10 layer carrot cake for my bday dessert but we were sooo stuffed that there was no way we could have eaten it then!! So they just brought out a candle and our carrot cake to go! HA! :)After dinner it was time for a movie. We headed to the Inwood Theater to see "Easy A". Super fun theater b.c it is full of just couches and ottomans instead of movie chairs. :) Love it!Chris was comfy... :)After an amazing night of sleep (without a baby monitor-ha).....we decided to head to get some good brunch. A night of good sleep makes you hungry..right? :)

Nick and Sam's Grill...here we come. :) Amazing eggs benedict on cheddar cheese biscuits and Captain Crunch french toast. Can you tell that we loved all of the great food this weekend? :)

Such a super fun weekend with my hubby!! I am so glad we were able to get away and play, and we are so grateful that Chris's mom took care of our little man for us while we were gone!! Than you so much Jan! :) We cherish weekends like this and are blessed to have them. :)
