How Did 35 Already Get Here?

So I am officially halfway to 40!! I am 35 years old and counting. :) The crazy thing is that I really don't feel any older! HA! :)

I had a great birthday this year....and I have to thank my boys for making everything so special for me. :) They are the best. They made me smile all day long. :)

Chris and I had the awesome pre-bday celebration in Dallas the weekend before the big day...and then we celebrated in Austin this weekend.

Beautiful flowers from the sweet men in my life..... On Friday Chris and I had a good lunch at The Roaring Fork.....and it was YUM!! :)

Then I headed down to spend the rest of the afternoon at the Four Seasons Spa. I had a special foot treatment lined up b.c my feet needed some TLC...and my plan was to spend the following few hours relaxing. :) However, I was disappointed by the spa there as it was really just lacking. I was looking forward to a great relaxation room where I could take a long nap, and all of the other fun things that a "spa" type environment brings like hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, fun showers, etc. But sadly, none of that was really there. :( And it was hard to relax with only 4 chairs sitting very close to one another in the relaxation room. Boo. :( Not too many naps happening in there as everyone was crammed in waiting for their treatments. So I ended up getting my foot therapy and then headed out pretty quickly.

I did sit out by Towne Lake in the hammocks for a little bit to chill and that was nice. :) But overall I don't think I will be heading back to the Four Seasons for my future treatments for special occassions. I think I will be sticking to what I know that rocks in Austin! :)

This was my little chill spot right in front of Towne Lake.....nice. :)

Since I did not get to nap much in here. :) My parents came in Friday night to play for the weekend. My dad's bday is Sept 29th...so just a few days after mine. So we decided to celebrate together in Austin this year. :)

We headed out to dinner at Truluck's on Saturday night. It was fun to have just the 4 of us together for the evening over some scrumptous cuisine. :) We had a really good time. :)Mmmmmm.....crab legs. :) And we had the best wine, steaks, parmeasean mashed potatoes, and wonderful desserts like divine chocolate cake and key lime pie! :) It was seriously YUM!! :)
You can tell that Dad was getting excited about the dessert! LOL! :)And Trulucks gave us both fun Happy Birthday desserts too! :)
The craziest part was that the entire week before the dinner...and even up until the dinner, Dad and I were arguing over who was going to pay. When you both have a birthday, what is the right answer? :) I thought the most logical answer was to just split the bill but he still insisted on paying. He can be a little stubborn sometimes (must be where I got that from). :)
So anyway, we thought that Dad must have gone to the bathroom and slipped the waitress his credit card...b.c she came to the table at the end of the meal and said "Thank you very much Mr Jaetzold". Well just the final credit card slip was in there to sign..no bill. So of course we thought he had pulled a fast one on us!! Until she said "We hope to see you all again and thank you Cory". Well the funny thing is that my dad's name is Gary and my brother's name is Cory!! We were all squealing b.c we realized that my brother and sister in law (who live in DFW) had called ahead to the restaurant and given their credit card to charge the entire meal too!! WHAT? :)
So basically my sneaky brother had pulled a fast one on all 4 of us!! How sweet was that for him to call and take care of the entire meal for our birthdays? So nice!! :) We laughed the entire way home b.c we realized that the waitress was completely clueless as to why a "Cory" paid and he was not there....and I don't think she even realized what my Dad's name was. LOL!! It was just funny!! :) Thank you so much Cory and Jen...you guys are amazing!! :)
Happy Birthday Dad!! :) Love you! :)
