Indoor Fun In The Winter

Due to the chilly temps lately, we have had to find some creative ways to let Braden get all of his "toddler" energy out (while not actually being able to play outside much). He is not a huge fan of hats and gloves, so that also tends to limit his time outside when it is in the 30's and 40's. :) Out little man sure does love being outside, so we have tried to have lots of fun indoor options too. HA! :)

We headed up to the mall's indoor playground one day to let him burn some energy. Those type of places completely gross me out as they are like a petri dish. UGH!! Complete and utter germfest but I have had to learn over time that I have a boy...and that he will likely be into germs A LOT in the years to come!! So even though it grosses me out, I let him run around like a crazy man and then I douse him in antibacterial sanitizer!! :)
We decided to go ahead and put his fun slide and basketball hoop from Christmas up inside the house. We know how much he loves the slide, and how much he loves to play basketball....so we could not deprive him of that just b.c we were stuck indoors! :) And we had some creative time at the table. Lots of coloring and playing with playdough. :) Chris and Braden took the cookie cutters and made lots of fun creations. :) Braden was WAY into all of that so it was a lot of fun.
It will be spring before we know it and the outdoor fun can commence once again! :)

  1. Cody has that same slide and it never dawned on my to bring it inside! I am totally doing that...great idea!!! We miss going outside as much since its so cold. Also, we can't seem to keep the basketball hoop attached. Did you notice that being a problem?
