We took our first family of four roadtrip to DFW the weekend of July 23rd for Brant's baptism. Wow...it was quite the experience for sure. The drive itself was very interesting. Braden does awesome in the car between reading books, playing with toys, watching movies, etc...he is great. But on the other hand-our sweet little Brant had my nerves pretty fried by the time we got there Thursday afternoon. ;) When he was not sleeping, he decided it would be fun to cry...A LOT!! So that was unnerving for sure. You gotta love it!
We finally made it and we got there safe and sound (after an extra hour or two on the road), and with just a little bit less of our sanity. :) Despite a few nights of crazy sleeping, Braden thinking it would be fun to climb out of the pack n play and sleep in a queen bed all weekend, and a couple other fun, crazy kids things......it was a good weekend of getting together with family and friends, and getting to celebrate our sweet baby boy's baptism.
Our car all packed and ready to go. Yes, we have a big SUV, and yes, it was packed to the ceiling for just 3 nights in DFW. Again, you gotta love it! :)
Look at my bowling shoes! :) Riley and Braden getting their bowling balls.
Look at this fun ramp type thing that they had for the kids! :)
Braden was determined to carry his own ball. :) Braden won the game by 3 points. :) Cute pic....Riley helping Braden roll his ball.
Hugs for a good game! :) What a fun time!! Let's walk out holding hands! Bowling is fun!
Brant was so worn out from all of the fun and playing at Papa Bugs house that even after waking him up from his long naps...he just could not open his eyes. :) We had dinner with lots of family over on Friday night, and Riley thought it would be fun to feed Braden. It cracks me up that he let her! :) They are funny together b.c she is only 8 months older but she is like his little mom. :) Swimming in Papa Bugs pool was a highlight...and Brant even got to go on his first water adventure. :) Braden and Riley went nuts together of course. :) Let's ride on the big float together... Aunt Katie and Brant had some bonding time together... The water was a hit! He liked it! :) Hopefully Brant will be a fish like Braden. :) Hats are good... :) During a break from swimming it was time to get out and smell the flowers... I went over to see my precious friends David and Tracy who had a preemie born about 8 weeks early too. Elisabeth was absolutely adorable, and I was soooo happy to have gotten to meet her in person. We have already been talking about how she and Brant will have to date (since they have almost the same NICU stories). What a blessing she is to their family and we are so happy for them! :) More pics to come in the next post about Brant's baptism on Sunday. :)
