Our sweet little man turned 15 months on November 27th. :) He is such a little ham and he has kept us in stiches so much lately. Never a dull moment in our house these days. :)
When we walked into his 15 month checkup, the first thing they said was "he should be testing his independence right now and not wanting to be in the carseat, stroller, etc....as well as being on the go from dawn to dusk with one nap during the day.......and then crashing at night".
Well that pretty much describes Braden to a T!! :) He is super independent and it is a battle of wills on a daily basis. He wants WHAT he wants, WHEN he wants it....and if not then we get to have a fun temper tantrum to make it all a lot more exciting. :) He also does not want to be strapped into ANYTHING-a carseat, stroller, highchair, wear a bib, etc. I think he thinks he is older than he really is. LOL! :) And he sure does go, go, go..take about an hour and 1/2 nap....then go, go, go...and finally pass out at 7:30 at night and sleep 11-12 hours. So she could not have described it better. But at least that short intro conversation at our doc visit told me that my child was completely normal..and all of a sudden my concerns melted away. :) She topped it off with "Oh just wait until 18 months!!" :) Sounds like good times are coming, doesn't it? :)
Here were the stats from the appt:
Weight: 27 lbs 8 oz (85th percentile)
Height: 33 1/4 inches (95th percentile)
He is still growing like a weed, and is still looking like he might make a good basketball player one day with his height. :) I swear he gets taller every day. :) We moved into 24 month clothes officially this month b.c the 18 month ones were just getting too short. Gotta love it!
Here is some of the fun info about Braden at 15 months! :)
1) He has 8 teeth and they are so cute in his mouth. I love how precious he looks with them! :) The molars are starting to come in now too...which I am thinking is not going to be so much fun.
2) Braden has way too many toys but he would rather spend his time playing in the recycling bin, stacking sodas on top of one another, playing with paper and other odds and ends, etc. Why spend money on toys when there are so many other fun things to play with just laying around the house? :) He can stack things from big to little, etc...and he is so proud of himself! :)
3) He is learning some Spanish at school and he can say agua, hola, and uno. Pretty funny when he asks for his water all the time as "aqua"now instead of "wa-wa"!
4) He knows where a lot of the parts of his body are and he can point to them-head, nose, eyes, ears, mouth, hands, feet, tummy. Love it! :)
5) Braden has LOTS and LOTS of words but we will save that for a separate post b.c I just love what a talker he is. :) He loves to say "What's tis?" to everything...and he wants you to say what it is. :)
6) He can go and pick up things and bring them to you when you ask him to. That might be very helpful in the future! HA!! He is also learning how to clean up and pick up toys, etc. Thank you Lord. :)
7) We have to lock all of our doors to the outside b.c that little man can open them...no problem. That scares me.....so it looks like we need to babyproof the doors asap just to be safe. He also has no problem just walking in on you in the bathroom, etc. HA!! We have to remind our guests to lock the bathroom doors when they are here...unless they want a little visitor to join them. :)
8) We have a blast sitting and going through books with him b.c he can point out so many things. We can say "Where are certain animals, the sun, the clouds, the girl, boy, car, ball, etc?"and he will point to all of them. That has become the new way that we read books with him. He LOVES it!!
9) He still loves to give kisses...but at least in the last month or two they have turned into closed mouth ones. :) He will make the "mmmm" sound and go from person to person and kiss them. Hilarious. And he loves to give hugs which we LOVE of course. :) Too sweet.
10) He is learning how to share his toys which is a good sign. :)
11) He is still a good eater and will try a variety of things. He still decides when he wants to eat them and how much.......but overall he has a very varied diet.
12) He is still going through some separation anxiety. He started that around 11 months and it peaked around 14 months. There are still times that we leave him at the church nursery or at school and he gets upset. He usually calms down quickly but he still has that initial "please do not leave me" cry. :)
13) He points at lot when he wants something. I think he does get frustrated at times b.c he cannot tell you exactly what he wants.
14) He is starting to get interested in Disney type movies. He watched some of "Cars"with his cousin Lainey. He does not have a super long attention span but it is something a little different.
He thinks it is fun to go get the remote control and point it at the TV. Then he will say "VO, VO!!" That is his combo of "movie"and "video"I think. We don't let him watch a ton of movies or TV but every once in awhile we will give him a little treat. :)
15) And the best thing he can do is say "WHOOP"!! That is music to an Aggie's ears!! We are stoked!! :) We say it all the time! HA! :)
We love you precious little man!! You make every day more fun than the one before. You are our pride and joy!! :) Looking forward to Month 16!! :)
What are you guys looking at? :)
Yes, I rule the roost. (Or at least I think I do). :)
Just walking around talking to myself. :)
