The Beauty Of A Birthmark

Thought it would be fun to do a short post on our little man's birthmark. :) It is on his right arm, and we noticed it shortly after we left the hospital. It was super small at that time, and very light in color (pinkish). We did not think much about it until the pediatrician pointed it out at one of our first visits, and she said "please do not stress over this...it will go away!!" :) She must definitely have parents that stress out!! HA!

The type of birthmark that Braden has is one that about 10% of babies get. Most of them appear on a baby's face, neck, or stomach. Then there are some that are on the arms and legs as well. They grow and get red (like a little strawberry) up until about 6-ish months of age. Then they start to fade...usually after the first year. They are supposed to turn more purple and then eventually white..and be gone. Just like that! HA! :) Poof!! :)

I have some friends whose babies have also had these birthmarks, and most of them are already close to being gone. They have told me to take pictures of it b.c once it is gone, he will never believe he had it! HA!! So I am taking advice from you guys on this one!! Thanks! :) One of my friends said her son still does not believe that he had one!! She cannot seem to convince him. LOL! :)

We like to think that our little munchkin has been kissed by any angel... :) Sweet baby. :)

Braden-I took a pic so you would not forget one day. :)

  1. JTC had one on his arm, too. It was GONE by the time he was about 1.5. (Our ped had said it would be gone by 5!) Isn't that crazy?
