Cooking Made Easy....

Well we have continued to simpify our lives here at the Bugbee house. :) For the first couple of months, we were buying all of Braden's food (once he started solids). We tried to do organic whenever we could....but unfortunately every type of baby food does not come in organic form. Boo. :( We also realized very quickly that if we only bought from the store that we would have a very limited selection. :)

So we decided to go ahead and buy the Baby Cook from Williams Sonoma, and it has been a game changer. :) YAY!! We are loving it and have been able to cook up so many fun foods for Braden...and he LOVES them!! Chris did some major cooking this past weekend....and now we have fun food for about a month for our little man. Hooray!

He has been experiencing all kinds of healthy stuff like broccoli, spinach, cauliflower, asparagus, different kinds of corn, potatoes, zucchini, etc. Then we also made some old standbys like peas, mixed veggies, and avocados. The great news is that Braden is still eating everything we put in his mouth..and opening up for more!! We hope that this helps to expand his palate for the future. :) He has been such a good little eater...and we feel very blessed for that!

When we are feeding him and we say "mmmmm mmmmm", he repeats it and just smiles! Hysterical. :) And if we drink something then he watches us very intently, and then he smacks his lips like he is drinking too!! Too funny! :)

So feeding him has definitely really started to become fun. We were kind of waiting for that point..and I think we are here. :)

Looking forward to the other new recipes that we can come up with in the Baby Cooker!! :) What a great investment!

8 Months Of Happiness.......

A new month is here....and Braden is 8 months old today! YAY! :) Lots of fun happened in these last 30 days...and we are stoked for what is to come!! :)

Braden is 22 lbs and who knows how long...but he is LONG!! :) I am pretty sure he will be off the charts in length (or very close to it) when we go back for his 9 month appt. He is still filling out his 12 month clothes very well. :)

Braden is in the stage where he is imitating sounds...and it is stinkin hilarious! :) So many funny sounds that just crack us up. The best is when you are in the front seat of the car and you are making sounds, and you can hear him in the backseat imitating you. Hysterical! :) And he LOVES to laugh...side splitting laughing that is completely infectious! :) I cannot get enough of it. :)

He is a super eater...so trying new foods has been a lot of fun. He has eaten everything from avocados to pumpkin, and mango to spinach and beef. :) Gotta love those gross pureed meats!! LOL! :) He eats 3 meals per day and then drinks about 24 oz of formula per day as well. He is really starting to cut back on the milk and eat more of the food. Not exactly sure why b.c most of it is pretty darn gross. :) He loves water too, and he downs that from his sippy cup! He cannot get enough. :)

We are still waiting for those little teeth to come in. Looks like those are going to be late to arrive...but hopefully he will get them all at once!! :) Wouldn't that be nice to go through it just one time? :) You can see the pearly whites under the gums...but nothing has popped through.

Braden is not crawling just yet...but he likes to scoot and creep...backwards. :) You gotta love it. :) If you put him on his stomach, he will end up somewhere else....but not through the traditional crawling method! HA! :) Sometimes if he is in a sitting position you can look over, and he will have gotten on all fours and look like he is about to take off. Then you realize that he has not quite mastered how to get that last leg into position to move forward. Once he gets the hang of that, he is going to be on the move. It is so cute to watch! :) My friends have told me not to rush the crawling...b.c then all of the baby proofing has to happen, and you chase them everywhere. :)

I have begun to notice him starting to have stranger anxiety and some separation anxiety. I did not expect that since he is at school everyday...and does great there. But I have just noticed in the past day or two that he is not a huge fan of going to other people that he does not know well, or letting them hold him. Hopefully this is a very short term thing! HA! :)

So here's to 8 months little man!! We are having such fun with you!! :) You have made us so happy, and have filled our home with unspeakable joy!! What did we do for nightly entertainment before you joined our family? HA! :)

Love my mohawk!He just started sleeping on his stomach some since turning 8 months. He rolls his blanket up into a little pillow and gets comfy. :) This is how I found him this morning when I went in to get him. :)Getting close to being a crawler!!

Even though Braden is going to turn 8 months tomorrow...he still loves to proudly display the "B" for Braden!! HA! :)

Baby Anjali Gets Some Love....

Baby Anjali is going to arrive in a few months, and to celebrate there had to be a shower of course. :) Yay! :)

So I headed to a shower for my friend Kim on Saturday morning, where she was showered with lots of presents for her sweet baby girl. :) It is always so much fun to watch people open baby girl presents, since I have a boy and don't have all of those super cute, frilly clothes!! :)

Chris was camping over the weekend, so I took Braden with me for his first shower experience. HA! :) At least he is still young enough not to care. :) He did well b.c he was entertained by lots of people...and of course he loves all of the attention! :)

Tiffany took great care of my little man...and he loved playing outside with her! Sweet Jan helped out too, and I was very grateful! :)Showers are not so bad. :)

Tunnels, Rocking Horses, Fun Toys, And More....

We had a fun week with Braden!! What an adventurous little man he is!! We love it. :) However, we cannot believe that he turns 8 months old next week. Goodness! :)

Just a few pics from our week........

Braden loves to be up on the couch looking out the window. He is Mr. Curious about everything that is going on in the neighborhood. :) Fun new toys make him smile. :) Before we know it, I am sure he will be walking behind this walker!! :) We thought the tunnel might help to entice him into crawling a little more. Right now he scoots backwards but has not really figured out how fun it would be to crawl forward! :)He is really starting to get into this big music cube....and he loves the different sounds of Mozart and Beethoven. :)And last but not least...the newest treasure in the house. :) I went to a baby swap last night and this fun rocking horse was raffled off....and I won it. :) Braden has fallen in love with it, and he sat in it for an hour this morning. LOL! :) I think he is also pretty intrigued by the constant "neighing" that the horse makes. :)With all of these crazy toys that he is accumulating, I am sure it will not be hard for him to find lots to do this weekend! HA! :)

Urban Photo Shoot...

We got the pics back from our fun urban family photo shoot (that we did a few weeks back). :) We had a good time hanging out in downtown Austin and smiling for the camera!! :) Braden did awesome at this photo shoot...he was a mega smiler in most of the pics! :)

It's A Good Day...

Wednesdays are good days for smiling and laughing... :) I mean sometimes things are just really funny! :)

Basketball Or Baseball?

Tuesday was a fun day! :) Braden got to try some new things for really no reason at all....just b.c it was Tuesday. :) One of those things was to see if he already had a love for basketball or baseball at his young age. LOL! :)

To start the day, Mom dressed me in this crazy shirt that said "Short, Bald, and Handsome" :)

And I got to play with some new toys......

I did like basketball!! :)But I liked baseball too! :) I think I might have been holding the bat from the wrong end a lot of the time though!! :) Oh well, I will learn. :)See, I really cannot decide which is my favorite....I love them both! :)

Mom also gave me some of these fun "teether" feeders with real food in them!! I love bananas in these new feeders!! Why did I not have these weeks ago? :) Let's load up some more good groceries into these. :)
