Not only is this the largest cruise ship in the world...but it holds 6360 passengers! Unreal! We had about 8300 total people on our ship b.c we had 6140 passengers and about 2160 crew. :) It was the largest amount of passengers that have ever set sail in one week. So cool! :) Glad we could be part of history. We do what we can. LOL! :)
We truly had a blast on this fasinating floating nation for 7 nights, and that was mainly b.c we had a WONDERFUL babysitter while we were gone. My mom came and kept Braden for 8 nights....how SUPER is she? :) And you know that they had tons o' fun while we were gone. We thought about taking him with us.....but there is just no way that at 10 months he would have had as much fun on the cruise as he did at home with his Mimi!! :) So basically my mom rocks the free world...and she truly took care of his every need. We could not have asked for more!! We love you Mom!! :) My dad, little bro, sis in law, and cousin Lainey came in to play with mom the first weekend that we were gone....and apparently Lainey and Braden are best buds now! HA! So cute. :)
Now back to some more details on the cruise which was completely over the top. Don't even know how to explain it. We LOVE to cruise...and even after being on about 7 other cruise ships, this is the bomb.com. :) So let me take you on a tour of the ship. I will post as many pics as I can of the ship..but honestly there is just no way I could post them all. There are soooooo many parts to this ship. Amazing!! I will just try to hit some of the highlights of our trip. :)
Ready to head out of Fort Lauderdale. :)
The unbelieveable Oasis of the Seas! The Mother of all Ships! :)
The ship positioned next to ours was a normal size cruise ship-about 2500 passengers. Seriously, it looks like a tugboat next the the Oasis. UNREAL! :)
The back of the ship....Looking down on the Boardwalk and the Aqua Theater. The coolest part of this ship is that about 90% of the cabins are balconies. You can either get one that faces the Boardwalk or Central Park on the inside of the ship....or you can get one that faces the ocean. Our cabin.... :)Our private oasis... :) Ahhhh the Carribean waters....
Looking down on Central Park......
24 elevators onboard....
Beautiful central park in the center of the ship. Absolutely amazing that it is filled with all live plants. There are stores and restaurants and nice, cozy places to hang out. There are over 20 places that you can eat onboard....so many fun places to try from steakhouses to Italian food, and from sushi to cafes. :) And lots of fun bars and clubs, etc.
The only floating Coach store at sea. :)Heading out to the Boardwalk.....where there are more fun restaurants like Johnny Rockets, a donut shop, ice cream parlor, the Carousel, photo studios, etc. What an experience!View up from the Boardwalk.....The Solarium....One of our favorite hot tubs on the ship.....
As if the view was not good enough of the ocean, you can watch TV instead. :)The insanely cool Aqua Theater onboard. GREAT water shows with some sweet divers!! :)There were two rock climbing walls on the ship....The Royal Promenade.....so many good bars and places to get snacks! :) And we loved the Cupcake Cupboard....the only one at sea! :)On Air Karoke Bar...The formal dining room.... The main theater.....where they performed "Hairspray" and "Come Fly With Me" (a Cirque type show). You had to have made reservations in advance for all of the shows and restaurants, etc. But that meant it never felt like things were insanely crowded....or that you were traveling with 8300 other people. :) View from the deck with all the pools.....The Children's water play area. They had unbelievable stuff for the kids-WOW!! Their Adventure Ocean program was huge and catered to kids 6 months to about 10. Then there was a huge teen area for kids that were about 11-17 with everything they could ever want. :)The Sports Deck......The Comedy Club.....Jazz Club......Minature golf.....
The Zip Line that ran through the ship...There were two of these "Flowriders" on board so you could learn how to surf and boogie board. People were wiping out left and right! LOL! :) Chris at Johnny Rockets.....
We took a backstage tour of the shows on the ship. Super cool! :) Chris was posing with some of the folks in the cast of "Hairspray".The Lollapalooza parade on the ship. They had fun parades through the Royal Promenade! :)Will Chris learn to surf onboard? :)Our stateroom attendant ROCKED!! She made the most fun towel animals every night!! Here was just one example. :)
All smiles after dinner. :)We had some fun drinks...yum!! :) Chris just chillin out on the balcony....The water show in the Aqua Theater...... The fountain show inside....Lots of good music in da clubs and bars. :) Chris at the champagne reception for the Captains Welcome Speech.
Ice skating fun......Margarita time... :) One of our favorite restaurants onboard...Chops Grille. Pure goodness! Hanging out at the Aqua Theater. Chris became a whiskey connoisseur on the ship. He checked out a book about whiskey in the ship's library and learned everything...and then he spent the rest of the cruise trying everything he had read about! :)

Us being silly in all of the different places on the boat that we could take pics! :) MMMM....lobster night!! :)
The ice skating show onboard..."Frozen In Time". It was a re-creation of all of Hans Christian Andersen's books. Pretty cool!

There were 24 elevators on the ship...and every morning these were changed to the correct day of the week. :)More fun towel animals...so creative. :)
The huge 70's disco party on the Royal Promenade at midnight one night.
Chris in the theater during the backstage tour.....
The Roloff family from "Little People, Big World" were on the ship with us. They were there for her charity foundation. Since we were going to Haiti, they got off and flew to Port Au Prince to help out with a few things. So we took a pic with them. :) More learning.... :)
The family circus out on the Boardwalk......
Chris and the captain of the "Oasis of the Seas".... :)

I took a cupcake decorating class onboard...so fun!
Here is the little puppy dog that I made. Hee hee! :)Our ports of call on this ship were Labadee, Haiti, Costa Maya, Mexico, and Cozumel, Mexico. Unfortunately we had to miss Costa Maya b.c the hurricane had come through before us and the water was VERY choppy. A ship our size was not going to be able to dock in a small port like Costa Maya...as they thought it might do damage to the ship and the dock. So we had to skip over that one. We were sad to miss that port but here was plenty to do on the ship to entertain us during our day at sea! :)We were sad that we had to say goodbye to the Oasis of the Seas b.c it was truly an incredible adventure!! I am not sure that we will ever be able to go on another cruise ship again b.c we will be comparing everything to this one!! HA!:) Now we want to go on her sister ship that is launching this December-the Allure of the Seas! Cannot wait to check that one out!! In the meantime though....more happy sailing to everyone. :)
Great shots! We were on the same cruise! Amazing ship! LOVED the Aquatheater, Hairspray Rocked!
ReplyDeleteWe have sooo many of the same shots - too funny! Even one with us and the Roloffs!
Glad to see you guys had as much fun as we did!
It will be hard to go .. to another class of ship after the Oasis that's for sure!
Happy Cruising!
