Restaurant Reviews-Part Deux

We have been having fun going and trying some fun new places in Austin recently. As you know, we love nothing more than acting like tourists in our own city, and checking out lots of new restaurants.....sometimes with the kids and sometimes on dates. :)

Here are a few of the ones we have been to lately....

Lucy's-fun place right off W 6th Street with a variety of yummy food....and amazing drinks. We went on a weekend night so there was live music. Fun vibe in there and all of the waitstaff were so nice. Thumbs up! :)

Annie's-this place is so quaint and it is down on Congress (not too far from the Capitol). HUGE lunch crowd (which is when we were there)...but they are open for dinner too. The food we had was great...and they had a really nice selection too. It is cozy in there and they have outside seating as well. Good choice! :) STACK-major yum to this new burger bar on 4th Street!! Love it! :) Very fun atmosphere, and you just feel a little healthier in this place b.c you are eating hormone free beef (which we all know is better for us). :) Lots of burger options and good beverages too. I give it two thumbs up! :) Omelettry-YAY for this fun dive! :) It is in Central Austin and they were great to our kiddos. They had fun toys that they brought to our table to entertain them, so you know the boys were happy. Good food and on the cheap! I like that! :) Beware though...this place gets crowded FAST, so to avoid the long breakfast wait you must go really early. Don't say I did not warn you. :) Papitino's-let's put it like this "crowded, fun" little house. :) The reason I say that is b.c this place is pretty darn small but it makes up for it in the food they serve. Lobster and shrimp enchiladas among other yummy things, as well as churros for dessert. Um hello...you cannot go wrong with that cinammon goodness, can you? :) This is a VERY popular spot so know that before you go. :) And sorry for the very blurry picture on this one (forgot the "real" camera). :)
The Highball-great place to go for good bar type food and some vintage bowling baby! :) It's pencil and paper my friend. :) Head on down south if this is what you are in the mood for! Very lively atmosphere with lots going on (including decked out karaoke rooms you can rent)...and a place for live music to0. :) Broken Spoke- ah, an Austin legend. :) If you can believe that I have lived in Austin for 10+ years and have never been here. Unreal! Heard they have amazing chicken friend steak but I am more interested in the country and western dancing. Yee haw! :) Good times all around at this hole in the wall! :)
Austin Java-not a new place to us by any means but it just deserved to be included. :) Love this place for their fun coffee drinks, hot chocolate, sweet treats, etc. We hopped into the one on Barton Springs at the end of a super fun date night...and it never disappoints. :)
Russell's Bistro-and last but not least, a hidden gem for sure. Snuggled up next to the original Kerbey Lane off of 38th and well "Kerbey Lane"...it is not to be missed. Very bright and homey interior and great weekend brunch. The kids loved it too! :) Lots of good selections and cheap mimosas to add a little flare to your meal. :) I'd give Russell's a try for sure...thoroughly enjoyed it!
